The Isle La Motte Free Public Library is located on Main Street, just north of the “Four Corners.”  This lovely and historic stone building was built in 1830 by James Ritchie for Ira Hill who lived in the large stone house to the south.  Built of locally quarried limestone, the building was originally used by tenant farmers, and at one time housed two families. It became a library in 1904.

Please come and visit our unique library.
Check out a book or simply enjoy this beautiful building.

Haunted Library + Grounds

Mark your calendar for the first Saturday in October to visit the Ghosts and Goblins that come out at night at the Haunted Library and Grounds.  Check out the Graveyard, have your fortune told, gather some new recipes at the Witches’ Kitchen, dare to enter the Bat Cave, and so much more.  Hours will be announced as Halloween approaches.
