TENT RENTAL AVAILABLE

Hosting a party or special event?  The Recreation Department has a 20” x 40” tent;  including sides.  Please contact the Town Clerk’s office at 928-3434 to rent the tent.

RECREATION DEPARTMENT NEWSLETTER – MAY, 2023 EDITION

Hello everyone,
Hope you are enjoying the spring thus far and that you will be able to take advantage of
the Isle La Motte Rec Department activities throughout the next few months. Beginning mid-May, sports equipment for basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, horseshoes and pickleball will be available for use. Contact Ruth Casey at ruthcasey101@gmail.com for the code to the locked equipment box. Please use the sign out sheet and return any equipment you use so others will have the same opportunity. 

A Porta-let will be at the Veteran’s Rec Park from mid-May – October.

Here is what we have so far at Isle La Motte’s Veterans Rec Park:

  • May 21, 2023 Sunday @ 10 AM Aging Well info session (great info on events and the Restaurant ticket program)
  • May 28, 2023 Sunday @10 AM Tony Fowler ILM geologist Rock Talk at the limestone rock/sculpture area at Veterans Park followed by optional info session at ILM Goodsell/Fisk Quarries
  • June 10, 2023 Saturday @ 11 AM C.I.D.E.R info session (free giveaways), come learn what Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources has to offer
  • July 11 and 13 Tuesday and Thursday @ 7 PM Yoga/Meditation TBA
  • July 15, 2023 Saturday @ 10 AM Hip Hop Dance Class offered by the famous Ms. Liza from Dance in the Isle. This event is in collaboration with Island Arts
  • Drop in wiffle ball, badminton, volleyball, and social time picnic, TBA

The Islands Pickleball Association (IPA) will be offering pickleball again this year at the various courts in the Champlain Islands. Please visit their
website, http://champlainislandspickleball.org/ for more information and to register and become a member. There will be Beginner instruction over the
summer, details will be posted on the website and on Front Porch Forum. Any other questions regarding pickleball, please email ruthcasey101@gmail.com .

All activities are weather dependent and by donation. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Announcements and reminders will be made on Front Porch Forum. Please bring lawn chairs to info programs.

We are still looking for volunteers for the Rec Dept., or if you’d like to volunteer to teach a fitness class this summer, contact Anne at ajp4561@gmail.com.  We are happy to announce and thank our new volunteers Carmine from West Ridge Lane, Laura from
Quarry Rd. and Karin & David from East Shore. Suggestions welcome.
